Chuckanut Chainless

Remember when bike racing was fun?

When it really didn't matter who won the race, just so long as you got to crush the hopes and dreams of your buddies and rub their faces in it?

How about when racing was affordable? Do you remember THOSE DAYS?! Yeah, it's been awhile, but we do too. And because we do remember, we really miss it. It was after a night reminiscing about the good ol’ days of racing I got an idea. How about a chainless race done at an affordable price and scheduled late season when the pressure is off? And while you’re at it? Why not do it at Chuckanut? It’s got elevation. It’s got challenging terrain and lots and lots of turns. It’s kinda perfect!

OK. OK. So, now you might be wondering, what the hell is a chainless race? A chainless race is a mountain bike race where all riders remove the chain from their bike before starting their run. The course is predominantly downhill, but with sections where you have to pump the bike or possibly even get off and run with it for a bit. Often done unofficially with a group of friends, chainless racing is a fun alternative to the seriousness of downhill or enduro racing for points. Add to it a few good friends and you’ve got the foundation for a ridiculously good time. Sound like fun to you? Good. Mark the date on your calendar. Registration available soon.
